CAW plans to begin the second (of three for 2023) hydrilla treatment in Lake Maumelle which will result in a full closure of the reservoir to ensure that operations go as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

As with nearly all of our work in the watersheds and at the lakes, this project is highly dependent on the cooperation of the weather and storms or windy conditions would shift these plans. The plan is to close the launch ramps and boat slips at the Sleepy Hollow Access, WestRock Landing Marina, and the Grande Maumelle Sailing Club beginning at Midnight (12am) on May 22nd and the lake will remain closed to ALL boat traffic through Thursday, May 25th at 6am.

The lake will remain open to bank fishing and other recreational parks (except Sleep Hollow) and trails around the lake will remain open. Anyone doing business at the marina or sailing club will need to gain access from WestRock Landing Marina prior to entry. Recreation at Lake Winona will be unaffected during this closure.

There will be one additional treatment for 2023 that will result in a subsequent closure approximately 30 days following this treatment (in June or July). Our hope is to retain efficiency and keep a reduced number of days in the subsequent closure, so please help make this application go as smoothly as possible by remaining off the lake during these times.

If there are any changes to this schedule, we will send out notice to our email list and updates will be posted to the CAW Facebook page. If you wish to receive future news and notifications, please sign up for emails  here.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation!
